Fiyah!

January 30, 2010 • Filed Under social & travels

Last night we went to Ebisu on Robson for Edwin’s birthday, it was kind of awesome. We ordered a ton of yummy rolls, sashimi salad and a very interesting udon. The flaming saba was very entertaining, our end of the table was like WUUUUUAAAAAHHHHH (or at least I was) when the server was torching our saba, it was super cool. The other people in the restaurant who ordered that looked so bored when theirs came, maybe I’m just easily amused -_-

We ordered lots of alcohol for the birthday boy of course, but he was being kind of pansy about it because no one else was really drinking. We got four Bear Huggers for him (50% alcohol! :P the Ebisu drinks menus include all the percentages for each drink, it’s kinda nice knowing how much is in each one). And then a bunch of girlier drinks like pornstar, skyline, chyna white, orgasm haha… Why do they have dirty names!??!? Oh well I suppose sex sells ;)

More yummy sushi and japanese food tonight for my birthday dinner :9 excited to see all my friends together again =D

I love going to restaurants that light stuff on fire. It makes the place not only appetising, but visually appealing too. Or maybe somewhere deep down I’m a pyromaniac, lol.

I can’t wait till my 21st birthday. All my friends’ days have come and past, so they keep taunting me with all the booze they will be able to inflict on me, lol.

I love food that lights on fire too!!! we went to kobe in downtown vancouver, where the chefs do a bunch of stuff on the hot plate.. it’s not too impressive but THE FIRE MAKES IT SO MUCH COOLER!!

    / end pyro rant.

Isn’t chyna white a nickname for heroine? or was that crack..idk some narcotic! I don’t drink but mixed drinks always seem so nifty when I go out. they always look cooler than regular drinks.

    Mmm foooooood.

    Becca's reply

chyna white probably is a slang for something, although i’m too innocent to know.

    ha!

and i like colourful mixed drinks too… but sometimes the mix can make me feel really sick :(

Torched… saba? (wait, what’s saba?) I would be WAAAUUUUHHHH too! I mean, I was WAAAUUUU when my friend torched the tops of creme brulees :D
It’s kind of brutal to be the only one drinking… in a way you should be allowed to be raving drunk because its your celebration, but in another way you should also be sober enough for your guests so they don’t need to look after you if you were roaring drunk. Hm.
    50% alcohol?! Where?!

    Becca's reply

saba is mackerel in Japanese :P

and i suppose it’s not so fun to drink by yourself but it’s kind of fun to watch the birthdayperson act retarded x)

Gotta love sushi! Just ate some a couple days ago

I think one would be easily amused by things being lit with fire; I know I would, so you’re not alone!

    Becca's reply

I love some good sushi! Birthdays at restaurants are wonderful. I’m lucky enough to have a room mate/friend that works as a sushi chef at a very nice restaurant.
    Happy Birthday by the way!
